Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

  • Compensation
    Salaried employees at Ontario Tech are paid on a monthly basis. Below you can find information about the salary framework and the salary grid.

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

    Your Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is facilitated by LifeWorks* and has been designed to help manage and prevent challenges. Services provided can support you and your immediate family members through life stages, obstacles, and transitions.  LifeWorks is also available to provide immediate assistance during times of crisis. 

    *LifeWorks becomes TELUS Health:
    LifeWorks, our Employee Family Assistance Program (EFAP) provider, is now part of TELUS Heath and will be rebranded to TELUS Health by the end of August 2023.  Please read this EAP Transition memo for full details about this transition.

    New Essentials platform has launched! 

    Your Wellness at Work team is pleased to announce that effective March 7th, all full time and limited term employees will be invited to join Essentials, an add-on to our existing EAP program.   • Organizational Charts

    The faculty and staff organizational charts are updated twice a year (September and February) and include all full-time continuing employees. In September and February, the Human Resources department will send a communication to all departments and faculties reminding them to send in updates. The information is as accurate as possible on the date it is submitted to this page.

  • Weight Watchers Digital Discount

    Ontario Tech University employees are eligible to receive an ongoing discount of 50 per cent off of the digital Weight Watchers program.

    Choose your membership plan at Weight Watchers. In order to enjoy the ongoing 50 per cent do not let your membership auto-renew as the 50 per cent discount will not be applied automatically. 

    To participate in the ongoing 50 per cent discount follow these steps:

    1. Note the date your membership plan expires and cancel it before it auto-renews.
    2. After canceling your membership when it expires;
    3. Re-register for another new membership plan and the 50 per cent discount will once again be applied.
