The Ridgeback Roar is all about celebrating and recognizing our great people and the ordinary and extraordinary things we do.
What is Ridgeback Roar?
When a colleague wants to give you a shout-out, you'll receive a Hunter—a fun mascot in a pet carrier—and an email letting you know what you did that was wonderful and appreciated.
Your colleague might share their identity, or they may choose to remain anonymous—it’s all part of the fun! Hunter is meant to travel, cheer, and keep moving, so once you’ve had your turn, be ready to pass Hunter along to someone else deserving of recognition.
How It Works
Eligibility:

Open to all employees of Ontario Tech.

Both the giver and recipient must be employees.

This program is exclusive to Ontario Tech and does not extend externally.
Criteria:

Have a Hunter? Be on the lookout for another outstanding employee to recognize with a Ridgeback Roar!
Process:

Receive Hunter: If someone recognizes your contributions, you’ll receive a program Hunter.

Recognize Someone Else: Find another deserving colleague to pass Hunter to.

Send an eCard: Complete the program eCard to let the recipient know why they’re being recognized.

Deliver Hunter: Place Hunter in the recipient’s work area, send via interoffice mail, or hand it over personally.

Keep the Roar Going: The new recipient repeats the process and spreads the positivity!
