  • International Applicants

    Eligibility to work in Canada

    Some Important notes to consider:

    Can I work in Canada? If you are an international student who has questions about working in Canada, please contact our international office at iss@ontariotechu.ca .

    Temporary Foreign Workers (TFW) – will be required to have a valid work permit that will provide eligibility to work in Canada. It is the responsibility of the incumbent to meet Immigration Canada Requirements (IRCC) and ensure continued eligibility to work in Canada.

    To work in Canada and be paid appropriately, you will also need a Social Insurance Number (SIN). A SIN can be obtained from Service Canada, please review the following website and following the applicable steps.  

    Temporary Foreign Workers

    At Ontario Tech University all employees that are hired under the temporary foreign workers program or international mobility program are to be informed about their rights in Canada.
