Wellness Champions
As part of our Mental Health Action Plan, Ontario Tech is establishing a Network of Wellness Champions. Wellness Champions are staff and faculty who play an important role in supporting the well-being of staff and faculty and ensuring two-way communication between your department/faculty and the Wellness at Work team.
What's Involved
Wellness Champions are responsibile for:
- Reviewing monthly Wellness at Work Update Posters [Update Poster Sample] and sharing the information with their department/faculty according to your regular information sharing channels such as a team meeting, faculty council, etc.
- If your department/faculty utilizes a bulletin board to post notices, you will arrange for the Update Poster to be printed and posted.
- If you receive feedback on what's working well/areas for improvement related to mental health and well-being from your department/faculty, you will share this information with the Wellness at Work team by emailing wellnessatwork@ontariotechu.ca
- Providing a photo and bio to be posted on the Wellness Champions webpage (restricted to Ontario Tech)
- Attending an orientation session (scheduled for Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in SHA-024) and champion check-ins (twice/year)
- Wellness Champions will be asked to complete a two-year term.
