2021 Active Living & Engagement Challenge (ALEC)
Your Healthy Work Committee in partnership with the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre (CRWC) invites you to join in and participate in the 2021 Active Living & Engagement Challenge. Running through to April 2, 2021. To participate in this challenge please complete the activity submission form here. There are prizes to be won too!
Some events that will be included in this year 2021 ALEC include, but are not limited to:
- Strava Club -a free app to track walks, cycling, hiking running… anyone can join the DC/OT Campus Rec Strava Club challenges are posted i.e. walk 5 km before the end of January
- Trivia Nights –Thursday nights at 8pm-win Starbuck gift cards (A variety of topics- sports, the Office, and friends… Link to virtual Triva nights here.
- Speaker/ Webinar Series.-Topics include Bell Let’s Talk/ Ontario Tech Student Mental Health Services and Tuesday -Injury Prevention with Physiotherapist Vickie Grierson from Fit 4 Sport from the Campus Health Centre- keep an eye out in the Weekly Report under Recreation and Health and instagram for more upcoming webinars
- Virtual Fitness Classes Campus Rec Resource Library
- Fitness Consulting – Don't know how to start your fitness journey or want more health tips? Email Angie Wood at angela.wood@dc-uoit.ca who will provide an assessment and help you set your health enhancing goals!
- Paint Nights- Love to paint? Join us and come prepared with a canvas (recommended16x20) or media art paper, acrylic paints consisting of Ultramarine blue and phthalo blue, crimson or bright red, and bright yellow as well as black and white. You will need 2-3 brushes of different sizes (small detailed, medium and large), a water cup and paper towel. A link to the Zoom paint night will be emailed to you prior to the event.
